Conducted archaeological monitoring and data recovery at site
Ca-Ala-343
resulting in the recovery of 311 prehistoric human skeletons on a
12-acre
commercial/residential development at Civic Center Drive and Walnut
Boulevard,
Fremont, California. Services focused on assisting the client in
complying with City and State (CEQA) guidelines for the mitigation of
impacts
to significant prehistoric cultural resources. Technical studies
included Osteological analysis of 311 human burials and associated
funerary
remains, hydration and x-ray fluorescence of obsidian artifacts, AMS
(C-14)
dating of shell artifacts, shell bead and bone tool analysis, lithic
analysis,
and other aspects. Technical report of findings is in preparation
and expected to be completed by December 2004.

consultation/monitoring
of excavations for the installation of fiber optic cable throughout the
greater San Francisco Bay Region. Services focused on assisting
the
client in complying with California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC),
City, County, and State (CEQA) guidelines for the mitigation of impacts
to significant prehistoric cultural resources.

Central Chevrolet New Body Shop Construction Project,

Conducted emergency salvage/removal of 20 prehistoric human skeletal
remains and burial associations. Services included archaeological
monitoring and Native American Indian consultation/monitoring of
excavations
to complete project mitigation and the preparation of a Final Report of
Findings.

Conducted archaeological monitoring which resulted in the discovery
of a previously unknown Mission Period Neophyte Indian Dormitory
(circa.
1810-1811) associated with site Ca-Ala-1/H, Mission San Jose.
Services
included assisting the client with the mitigation of impacts to this
historic
resource through a program of data recovery including exposure of the
feature
and archaeological test excavations which resulted in the recovery of
over
300 individual artifacts and a large quantity of faunal remains.
Analysis of the excavations and the Final Report of Findings helped to
answer important research questions regarding the Neophyte Indian
population
at Mission San Jose.

human burials in danger of erosion at site Ca-CCo-538, located within
the
Big Break Regional Shoreline in Contra Costa County, California.
Services included archaeological excavation of the remains, Native
American
Indian consultation/monitoring and Most Likely Descendant
recommendations.
Technical studies included Osteological analysis of the skeletal
material
and associated funerary artifacts, hydration and x-ray fluorescence of
