STAFF QUALIFICATIONS
- Senior Archaeologist, Richard E. Thompson, has over 14
years of
experience
in California archaeology and cultural resources management.
Richard
has an extensive background in all aspects of professional archaeology
such as: client consultation and project review; Native American
consultation;
archaeological inventory, evaluation, management, and mitigation
recommendations;
archival and field research; cultural resource management plans; and,
report
preparation. He has lectured on archaeology and cultural resource
management for numerous institutions including the National Park
Service,
East Bay Regional Park District, various San Francisco Bay Area
Universities
and Colleges, and the Oakland Museum. Richard is a member of the
Society for California Archaeology and has served as co-instructor of
the
Archaeological Field School at Ohlone College in Fremont, California.
- Senior Historian, Andrew R. Galvan, is a Native American
Indian
Consultant
with over 20 years of experience in cultural resources management,
specializing
in handling Native American Indian concerns regarding archaeology and
cultural
resource management. Andrew is an Ohlone Indian Tribe
representative
and is listed with the Native American Heritage Commission (NAHC) in
Sacramento
as a Most Likely Descendant for the San Francisco Bay region. He
is regularly called upon to assist with the archaeological concerns and
Native American Indian policies of agencies such as the National Park
Service,
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Contra Costa Water District, East Bay
Regional
Park District, and the City of Fremont. Andrew is a past
president
of the California Mission Studies Association and has an extensive
background
in all aspects of professional archaeology and Native American Indian
consultation.
